Digital Camera with HD Video and fast shutter speed?

Digital Camera with HD Video and fast shutter speed?

I am in the market for a digital point and shoot camera that is under $ 200 but has excellent HD record and a nearer shutter speed. The camera I have now has a huge lag between photos and this is vital for me to get away from. I am interested in the Panasonic Lumix FH20, but PLEASE help me find others that I can look at… thanks
I reckon i know now that i may have confused shutter speed and lag. My intention was to question/talk about lag time. I dont know much about cameras, but do most have better performance with lag time lately? any suggestions on excellent digital point and shoot with HD record and small lag time between pictures?

I want to buy a HD record camera to record high quality record, Im not looking for a professional Sony $ 5000 dlls camera. We have a small community concession for a TV show and most of the work is gonna be done on the street with public, because all the huge gear is provided by the direct. I need something that i can connect an external mic in, and that gives me a decent image quality as well as performance. I had in mind something like the Panasonic SDR-H80, but I’m not to familiar with HD recording, so I come to the experts for advice… Also as a side note I need something that is friendly with computers of course. Thank you

Jorge,

I recommend you look at http://videomaker.com for fantastic reviews. I regularly frequent the forum there too.

Offhand, I’d also question you to look at how often you plot on using on using the camcorder – you may be able to use or rent. Is HD necessary? I mean, it really accentuates skin blemishes and terrible teeth. If it’s just public on the street (no make-up or lighting) you may maybe probably get away with a excellent standard-definition camcorder.

As for the microphone, many have inputs for an external mike. The higher end use XLR, you probably don’t need that. My Sony HDR-FX1000s do just fine with the fixed inputs, I regularly use with shotgun and wireless mikes. Excellent luck!!
