Have you looked at the two and do the look EXACTLY the same with the same voltage and amp hour specs?

Even then you are running the risk of damaging the camera if the battery was not designed for the camera you put it in.

It is always a good policy to buy the battery that was designed for the camera you have.

The battery the Nikon S600 uses is the EN-EL10 Lithium-ion Battery a 3.7v, 740 mAh battery.

The Olympus LI-42B Li-ion battery is a 3.7v 660 mAh battery

I recently purchased a new Nikon s600 Coolpix camera. I used it 3 times and the battery died. So I charged it.. and It didn’t turn on. SO i charged it again for a whole day. Camera still didn’t turn on… Has anyone had this problem? And If so; How was it solved?

I have had a coolpix since 2000 and it is still working just fine.

You may not be conserving the batteries when in use.

* turn off the camera as soon as you finish shooting
* do not use the LCD any more than necessary … this eats up the stored energy in a battery very quickly.
* the batteries in digital cameras are not rated in how long they can last but how many images you can get from each charge.

Your camera is supposed to be able to shoot up to 190 shots with a fully charged Li-ion rechargeable battery
