which camera should i buy? olympus or nikon?

I am from India. I want to buy a digital camera and i have a choice of 2 models. one is olympus and the additional nikon.
both are 6 mega pixel cameras and both have 10x optical zoom. even the price is nearly similar. nikon coolpix s4 has option of recording record at 15 fps, where as olympus sp 500 has 30 fps. i know u wud recomend olympus here. but nikon looks gorgeous and olympus is bulky. is 15 fps fine? or record looks jerky??? which camera should i prefer????

Olympus is excellent, but the memory cards aren’t that fantastic. Still, excellent cameras. List is brilliant, and Sony is excellent too.

i have an olympus and have been very satisfied with my camera.. never had any problems, the pix are fantastic quality, and the user interface is pretty simple…

ps.. the secret service had the same camera as me when they were by my house to do a warrant… so if the fedz use it for evidence collection i guess its got to be pretty excellent….

You didn’t give us the ‘hot features’ that you are interested in, nor the price range.

So I’ll venture a guess: get a Fuji F20 for about $ 150usd. Takes fantastic pics, record, etc.

Olympus is excellent as is List, Nikon, Sony and Fuji.

I really have an Olympus 710. Its super shiny and durable. Takes fantastic pictures. I was going to place it on ebay and craigslist because my hubby just bought a SLR and we don’t need them both. Let me know if you are still in the market and near Miami, FL. Excellent luck!
