Recording HQ audio from an external mic to a digital camera?
I use an Exilim EXS770 to record lessons for my website and to be really honest, the microphone isn’t that fantastic. I have an Audio Technica AT4040 microphone and a Mackie Onyx Satellite DAW that I use for recording music.
Is there any way I can use any of my tools together or pick up something additional to record audio from the professional alongside the video of the camera?
Answer by Small Dog
Since you are already recording the audio externally, when the video is in your computer video editor, mute that audio then import the externally recorded audio to the video editor and sync. Basically, you just replace the video’s audio with the externallly captured audio. I do that all the time…
Tip: While editing, leave the video’s audio up enough to hear – when the echo stops, you are sync’d. THEN mute the video’s audio.

Press release image of Slow Photography camera.
The function of the Slow Photography camera is to provide a natural stepping-stone between by a mobile phone as a camera before taking the nose-dive into professional grade digital photography.
The Slow Photography camera has been designed as an alternate route in modern photography and requires the photographer to consider traditional photographic principles such as framing, composition and lens selection. The Slow Photography camera establishes that a mobile phone does not simply have to be a rudimentary point-and-shoot grade camera and takes a literal stance on a mobile phone applications for photography such as ‘Hipstamatic’.
The concept for Slow Photography emerged from researching the ties between digital and analogue photography. I established that the processes involved in analogue photography are still relevant even with digital photography being so standard among photographers both amateur and professional. Flickr is undoubtably the most standard photograph sharing social network site among photographers and their statistics show that the Apple iPhone 4 is in the top 3 most used cameras (ahead of Canon’s EOS Rebel XSi, second only to Nikon’s D90). If people are being exposed to the joys of photography through mobile phones, Slow Photography can provide the creative freedom of an digital SLR with interchangeable lenses on their mobile phone.
To run, slide the front face open and insert your mobile phone. Turn the lens to select which lens effect you want.
The Slow Photography camera has three lenses; flat focal length, macro and fisheye. Carefully compose your shot by looking through the viewfinder and push the shutter release to capture your shot.

I use www.download.com because it’s a excellent house to search for stuff that I can LEGALLY download. Some is free. Some is free to try. Some you can pay to download. Try a couple of high rated free ones. Then you’ll know if there are any features worth paying for.
