The basic spec of a digital camera for non-professional people are: 1) resolution, 2) features, 3) memory types, 4) LCD size, 5) sparkle range, 6) focus system, 7) weight and size. They are not terms that professional use. If you are new to photography, i suggest you go to the library and find a basic photography book to read. In terms of digicam and video cam, I reckon a video cam can never be able to take excellent pciture and a digicam can never take excellent video. So you will have to choose what is more vital to you. Sony video cam is what I suggest. For digital cameras, you will have to do your homework because different people consider different brands and models bases on needs. I would consider canon or fuji for $ 200 price range (new). Digicam uses memory card, such as CF, MMC, or SD. As long as you have a card reader you can transfer picture in both directions. Like I said, go to a library or bookstore to learn more about it to commiting your wallet.

The most vital specification is how you intend to use a camera. Reckon about what you want to do and then contest cameras to your needs.

These are some camera features you will be shown:

Resolution: makes a difference in how huge you can print clear pics – 4 mp for 5×7, 5-6 mp for 8×10, 7 & up for larger. If you want to print huge, or crop out small parts and enlarge huge, more mp’s are helpful. One downside of more mp’s is that it takes proportionally more hard drive and memory card space to store the pictures.

Zoom: Most come with 3x zoom (make the pic appear 3 times closer). If you want to shoot from far away, you need a larger zoom (up to 12x now) and image stabilization.

Screen size: Larger is more convenient, but none are fantastic. Most are trying to see outside on sunny days. Pick what seems nice to you.

Video: Many digicams take video clips, but they are meant for small clips. The clips use up memory card space very quickly, especially at higher quality settings.

Camcorders take longer and usually better movies, but are mediocre at still pics.

Buy either for what they are excellent at.

Brand: My family is pleased with Canon or Sony (but there are many different models of each).

Download to digicam: Although computers can write on the camera’s memory card (download), usually the format cannot be read by the camera. So, no (Why would you want to?)

Learning: Look on the web for camera sites. they have lots of detailed reviews, forums, and tutorials.

Don’t take reviews too seriously. The ones by pros are very picky and overly critical.

Look for a camera that meets your needs now, feels excellent in your hands and meets your budget. Touch and feel lots of different ones; they are different. Most will perform well technically, so look for one that you “like” and will delight in by (a helpful “toy”).

Delight in!

Digital cameras offer instant feedback, so that you can see if the image is in focus and contains what you want to capture in the frame.

Digital cameras are able to capture more images on a memory card than the traditional 20-30 frames on a single roll of film

Is this for a grade?

Taylor,

What are the advantages of typing your homework on your computer, saving the work and then perhaps printing, then editing the work later on your computer VERSUS, doing all this on a piece of paper with a pencil?

Answer by baffled
1) You can instantly see your picture and if you dont like it you can rub out it and not have atrophied film.
2) You can transfer your pictures easily to a computer for viewing and editing, or save them all to a CD or memory stick so you still have them and can reuse your memory card for new ones.

Personally I reckon film cameras (excellent ones) are also fantastic if you are able to renovate the film and make prints yourself. Processing your own film is a very satisfying process!

(all cameras are photographic, it’s kinda the point… :P )

Answer by Carl_the_Truth
With 35mm you pay for your mistakes. With digital you can rub out them. With digital there’s no film to buy.
