"whats the best digital frame for a camera of over 7 .2 mega pixs? and what else should?

just wondering what’s the right way to go. i heard that i need at least a 10 inch modle for any business over 7 megapix. that came from consumers report, i’m not sure what the things can really do so any help would b welcome

Digital frames come in a number of resolutions, but ALL of them are far less than 7 megapixels. Common digital frame resolutions include 640×480, 800×600, and 1024×768. In terms of megapixels, that’s 0.3 megapixel, 0.48 megapixel, and 0.79 megapixel, respectively.

So for a 7 megapixel camera, it makes small difference because you’ll need to downconvert your 7 mp image to fit into the lower resolution frame. What you really need to look at is how excellent the screen is in terms of the contrast between black and colors, the brightness in an average room, and just how excellent the screen looks. I’d say a frame of 8″ would be just fine for your camera. The only issue is that I’ve noticed a lot of frames are uselessly wide, in a ratio not seen in digital cameras. Most digital cameras are 2:3 ratio or 3:4 ratio, but judge it or not, there are frames with a 16:9 ratio, or more rectangular. This is pretty much useless for cameras with the more normally seen square ratios. Obviously, these frames are just cribbing screens originally for widescreen LCD DVD players. So watch out which frame you get.

any reviews/additional suggestions? haven’t looked at them in store yet, i just used the article in “Consumer Reports” july 07 mag, very excellent article with suggestions and then searched them up online…. so i’m looking for reviews/suggestions because i want a list of no more than 5 to narrow it down to when i go to the store to take a quicker look.

want a camera that is excellent for family pix, maybe some more serious stuff, something that would fit in a purse, but not the tiny cameras!!!! thanks!

A710IS, I’ve got it and it takes gorgeous pictures. Make sure to get the new Eneloop Nimh batteries and a charger. Newer cameras suck down power quick. It beyond doubt is a fantastic camera, especially if you’re going to start using the manual features of the camera. Point and shoot is pretty excellent too.

I have the Fuji S5200 at the office and just bought Cannon PowerShot A710IS for personal use. I’d have to say I would beyond doubt go with the Cannon PowerShot A710IS. Takes fantastic pictures without excessive pixels so storage isn’t a conundrum…But, make sure you buy a SD card, because the one that comes with will only store about 4 pics. Also, only uses two batteries. I bought a charger, so I can charge 2 while the additional 2 are in use. Fantastic camera for the money.
