Most of the very small, cheap cameras are very similar.
Stick with a well known brand, stay away from Kodak and Vivitar.

The pros:cheap, handy and cute.

The cons: tiny lens and tiny sensor means limited quality and a lot of low light issues such as digital noise (grain). Limited features. Often no manual controls, which means you remain at the mercy of the camera because IT makes all the decisions and that usually only works well when the lighting is great. Without manual controls you have a lot less room for creativity and for learning about photography.

My opinion: they are cute toys, and nice to carry around as backup. If you have no actual interest in photography and you don’t care about quality, go for it and pick one.

It really depends on how much you want to spend. Below $ 200, there is not too much difference between the brands. Most camera phones are just as good. If you want to spend a little more say between $ 200 and $ 350, you will a see a difference, In general, I like most of the Canon’s ,Panasonic’s, Sony’s, Samsung’s, and Casio’s cameras. Canon and Panasonic make the best point shoot cameras because they have access to the best lenses. Sony, Samsung, and Casio will all be okay but they will offer some crazy extra features. Sony’s have touch screen and super slim design, Samsung has the camera with the LCD in front so the people in the photo can see themselves. The Casio’s have this super high speed function so you can take sports videos.

The best small cameras are the CanonS90 and Panasonic LX3. Best quality pictures and best quality video.
