What's so different between canon t2i & canon Gl2?

i’m looking at the video and canon t2ihave better video’s then canon gL2. why is that..

First, if you want video, but a video camera.

Second the t2i is a DSLR and the G12 in a high end point and shoot.

Third, the better image quality of the t2i stems generally from the fact that it has a MUCH larger image sensor than the G12.

The T2i is a DSLR and has a larger sensor, better processor, and interchangeable lenses. The G12 is an advanced P&S camera.

Debatable assertion.

T2i certainly has higher resolution and shallower depth of field potential.

GL2 has Pro audio inputs
GL2 has interlaced or progressive shooting
GL2 can record for more than 12mins
GL2 has motorized lens movements
GL2 has better ergonomics
GL2 has headphone socket

Although both can do video, they are designed for different applications. I used Xl1s for years, but went down the Sony Z1 route when they launched the XL2, five years later I augmented this with DSLRs, but I will choose different cameras depending on the job in hand.
