How does the original Canon EOS compare to the Canon Rebel T2i?
I have an first List EOS from the early 90′s and I’m looking to upgrade to my first digital SLR camera. Besides the obvious difference of digital vs film, are these cameras functionally similar? The ancient EOS has your basic manual functions and some “modes” as well as an auto mode. Can I expect similar functionality from the T2i?

Hey,
Buying a T2i for your first DSLR would be the best option right now. Its much better than any additional DSLR from competition at same price.
It has an Auto mode, though I recommend you to slowly start with Manual mode. It has manual focus (all lenses).
It’s like your ancient SLR, but with an LCD, less noise than all of persons films, fantastic record and additional stuff.

Kodak Disc 4000

If you plot on shooting lots of different film formats you’ve got to include the evil one.
Disc film has a terrible reputation, but I have to say I like the camera. Kind of a ahead of it’s time: Compact and slim, non user replaceable battery (ala iPods…), simple to load film. The styling is pretty cool, reminds me of a low price modern digital.
Ok the negative size is tiny compared to 35mm, but still it seems incredible that disc holds anything.
I currently have two list powershot s410 and sd600 that uses square battery pack and I use a charger to charge them back up. I was wondering whether fixed double AA batteries are better compared to the digital cameras that uses battery packs. Sorry for the wordy ness.

If they go terrible the AA batteries will be a lot cheaper to replace.
Answer by Eyebee
I would say with AA batteries.
Why?
You can get rechargeable AA batteries.
So? The battery packs are rechargeable.
Yes, but replacement rechargeable AA cells are much cheaper, and you can use them in additional gear too.

I use my camera so much that it would be insane not to use a rechargeable battery. I have 2 batteries so I always have one charged and in storage.
You do not want your camera battery to die when the information comes off your camera as you can lose images. So be cautious and buy a camera with a chargeable battery and get a spare.
Oh yes, and make sure you keep them clever and remember to place both battieries and charger in your storage case for travel. I have never run out of batteries… and I take hundreds of pictures every week.

Rechargeable AA-batteries are the best – if you
are out somewhere and they become too low
you can carry ondinary AA-batteries with you
and use instead.
