which is the best camera and video camera for professional commercial uses?

I have heard that List and Nikon are the best but which one is the best ? and which record camera for high HD res for shooting tv commercials would be the best ? one guy said list for images and sony fx for record .. !! I can buy one camera for images and another one for videos but I need your help !

my choice for broadcast record is the list XL-H1. but that life said, it won’t be excellent enough for some TV station and cable casters to accept. So to make commercials, find out from the venues you are going to supply what their minimum requirements are. Most won’t accept AVCHD or M-Jpeg source material, period, and some won’t take anything HD. be careful, its simple to make a $ 5000 mistake here, but its hard to go incorrect with a camcorder that has both miniDV and HDV options.

Review: I like this camera. If you don’t have a lot of experience with prosumer cameras (as in my case), the first look may be a bit intimidating (a friend said, “It looks like you’re filming tv news”). Especially as I added a Rode shotgun mike (not sure it does anything additional than make the sound louder, but…still checking it out).

You can’t rest the camera on your shoulder, but the image stabilizer helps and the grip and buttons are all well calculated and simple to reach. I struggled through the manual, but fortunately bought Dan Curran’s dvd about the xh-a1 which appears to be nearly identical. This was a -huge- help. I can’t recommend it enough if you are at all unsure of what you’re looking at. He goes through the simplest things (putting the shoulder strap on) to some very technical settings that you can do. The dvd saved me -so much- learning time and also prevented some careless mistakes (like letting sunlight through the viewfinder).

This camera feels like a terrific tool that can do whatever you need and the picture quality–even on Auto–is gorgeous. Having the two XLR terminals will make a huge difference, too. The usefulness and design really meets such a variety of needs–way too much machine/expense for “home record” (it’s not the kind of camera public forget is pointing at them), but fantastic if you want to shoot training films, web videos, independent films.

Technology has changed so much in the 20 years since I was in film school–and it’s still hard for me to judge that such a fantastic camera, capable of such a quality product, is available for under $ 4000.

I am looking to buy a record camera for recording musical performances, professional looking videos for control, and normal family stuff. I am not concerned about the size of the camera at all so don’t need something small but am only concerned with the quality of the picture and sound. A camera with an interchangeable lens and XLR audio inputs would be preferable but I may maybe sacrifice the XLR inputs. My budget is around $ 500 – $ 1,000 and was wondering if a high definition consumer grade record camera or a standard definition 3 chip camera would give me a better record for control and a more cinema-like look. An HD 3 chip camera is out of my price range at the moment so I am trying to choose which would be best for an indie-film look.
