Digital Cameras?

Digital Cameras?

So what’s the best camera that’s under $ 300 for someone who’s an amateur at photography? I was thinking a Nikon Coolpix but I read a lot of terrible reviews and though of getting a Sony Cybershot. I’m looking for something that has a nice exterior design, something that can take pictures positively quick and something that has excellent picture quality. And for anyone that has used any a Coolpix S550 or S600, or any of the 8 mega pixel (or higher) Sony Cybershot, may maybe you tell me about your experience with it? Thank you!

I also do not mind buying accessories for the cameras, so the Sony memory stick won’t be a conundrum for me

personally i like the sony cameras i got one and it is fantastic…it also only costed me about $ 250, but it gave me stabalazation and smile features and red eye reduction.

i bought a digital camera very recently, i also had to do a lot of research into it, life an amateur, well…i finally bought a List 590IS for Rs.10000(about 200$ , less in the US),
it has 8 megapixel, 4x optical zoom, and many additional features
i took more than 1000 photos with it and so far am satisfied with its performance, but trust me, above 2-3 Megapixel, it makes no difference whether i shoot with 5 MP or 8 MP(is shot with all possible background combinations)

this camera was recommended by many different public whose reviews i read on the net, (one of them was a disney tour guide who used cameras regularly) if you do buy a camera, be sure to get one with 3 or 4 x optical zoom (not digital),

the image quality for it is superb, it has a quick refresh time and many different modes for shooting

i have about $ 150 to spend for a digital camera. what would be the best camera to buy, in your opinion. the $ 150 is for the digital camera only, i already have the accessories for the camera. i am looking into list or sony, but i don’t know what else is out there. please help!
acessories are not a conundrum, its the camera that i am really interested in. if need be, i can get/exchange the acessories later.

if you had just 50 bucks more you may maybe get the
explicia casio…….it’s soo sweet! i just got it and i like it, and i only got it for 200 bucks! now that’s cheap for a awesome camera like that!

What accessories do you already have? If you are speaking of rechargeable AA batteries then thats excellent. If you are talking about a memory card, Sony and List use COMPLETELY different ones. Also, if you are plotting on using a memory card from an older camera with lower megapixels, more than likely the storage space on the card is small, for example, 64mb or 128mb..In an older camera that is only 2-3 megapixels, you would be able to get a ton of pictures, which a 5mp camera, you would get about 10.

Answer that first, then maybe I can help.

For 150? Maybe a cheaper model from Nikon’s Coolpix series. The L3 will set you back 150-170 dollars, and it’s a powerful small baby. I have digital SLR, but I still keep that small business in my camera bag for back-up! It can take incredible photos if you know how to work it.
