How to i transfer video from my canon gl2 to my computer?

i have a firewire, usb cable, driver and i need to know how to transfer the tape to my computer

Firewire. You capture from within your software. You didn’t mention the vital business; your record control software (please don’t say Movie Maker with a GL2). That’s a waste of a camera if you’re using anything less than a pro-sumer package like Premiere, Final Cut, or even Vegas.

Not sure you can, that’s not an HD camera that let’s you do such things. Pretty sure you are stuck with the 30fps (well, 29.97) of DV record.

Don’t take that as gospel, I don’t have a GL2. I do have a very similar camera, the Sony VX-2100. No 24fps there any.
