Do i have to go to best buy or can i do it myself?

im installing new speakers and a cd player on my 1986 Mustang, the car only has rear speakers. there just new replacement speakers from best buy nothing fancy and the cd player is just a normal cd player from panasonic. the car still has the first stereo and speakers. the stereo works, the speakers also work but they sound really terrible. i have the proper harness for the cd player. will i have to take it to best buy so i can get ripped off or is it something simple that i can do for myself ?

you can really do it yourself. hooking up the deck is a matter of three wires and then your speakers tie into the same harness. super simple. if your doing a simple stereo like just speakers no subs I would say you may maybe have it done in a matter of maybe 2 or 3 hours even if you don’t know what your doing

I don’t know if this would help but I’m a college student so I have no money and I installed an Alpine CDA 9886 on a Hyundai Elantra all by for myself, without any previous experience in car electronics at all. =D

It helps researching about the device that you’re going to buy first though. the deck shouldn’t be too hard and speaker should be pretty simple.

I bought my deck online, and then I researched about it to see if it fits and if it’s compatible. A excellent thought is… If you may maybe find someone who has done it then it should be compatible.

All I needed was my mainframe on the car, a wire cutter, a few connectors and the knowledge of how to tie collectively wire and differentiating colors.

Look around for your forums that is dedicated to your car, in this case, 1986 mustang. There should be one out there. Question for advices on what to install and how to install it. Question if someone has already did a project on it and duplicate teh project!

I install car audio systems for my friends all the time, this includes running wires(power, ground, speaker) plus installing subs and amps and it isn’t really that hard expecially if u have the right harness…….u have an simple job my friend …….it shouldnt take no more than 45mins-1hr to do

take it back and get a JVC headunit.

if you got plug in simple button harness then no prob. just dont break youre faceplate or trim or crack it.

The higher the Megapixels the better the picture. I would say Sony or Cannon. But additional oens are excellent also.
