It says ‘the current security setting will not let you download this file’. I tried switching off my firewall, switching off spybot but to no avail.

Can someone help? What security setting?

And it does it with both Firefox and Internet Explorer.

CNET Holiday Help Desk 2008

another seasonal Holiday Help Desk 2008 from CNET, staffed with our favorite Buzz Out Loud crew, Tom and Molly . Also joining hosting duties were Natali delConti (CNET, NY) and the two Brians, Tong and Cooley. Lots of question on netbooks, Blu-ray players (profile 1 vs profile 2), the ubiquitous iPod, HDTV’s and cell phones.

The show opened up with Tom and Natali. Tom went hoarse midway in the show but was able to help from behind the scenes. Kudos to BOL team. What stamina!

I got McAfee I my computer from Cnet, and it keeps asking me to register it., but seeing how I got it for free I don’t know if that is a excellent thought.

So can I or not? Thanks.

Answer by Carella
Cnet only guides you to everywhere you get the product, so it’s a safe site. Though, not all the programs are free, some have trials, some are free, and some you have to pay for.

McAfee’s products are not free and you will have to pay for the product before you can use it.

I recommend AVG as an anti virus, although eTrust’s 12 month free trial is brilliant (I’m by it and am extremely impressed).
If you need other programs, go for Zone Alarm firewall, AVG anti spyware (formerly Ewido) and SpywareBlaster.

If you click on the names in that list I gave you and it will take you to the authoritative download site.

Delight ensure that you keep them all updated for full protection and check for any updates when you first download them.
