If this is your first dSLR buy and are lucky enough to still have a real camera store nearby, then that’s the house to go, question your questions and then pay what they want for the camera (seriously, the support you get will be worth the small extra you spend).

Amazon usually has some excellent deals online. Walmart will have excellent entry level cameras but since they do not specialize in camera their selection will be limited. It just depends on what you want.

taken with a ten dollar underwater film camera in NC. a few more to come. this was the digital copy I got from walmart but I want to scan the prints in because they look better.

ok I bought a digital camera from walmart a few months ago…then i was looking for the charger one day and i plug in a different charger to the camera and it kinda like blew out or something..now i want to exchange it at walmart but i dont have a recipt…can i?

Yes you can. a friend of mine did, the camera had quit working when he went from WV up to Ohio, lost the box and receipt, and at first they were leery, but as long as they have that same model on shelves(or if you make a fit and threaten to sue, or not to ever come back depending on how believable you can make it seem you would sue) they will either give you a gift card or exchange it..
