Kodak EasyShare software problem?
I have a Kodak EasyShare C310 digital camera. I have vista on my computer. The digital camera and software use to work on my computer. Though, when I plug it in to the computer I get the message “device driver software was not fruitfully installed” and if you look in device administrator it says “does not start code 10″. I contacted Kodak numerous times and did what they suggested. I unistalled and reinstalled. I made sure no firewalls or pop up blockers were in the way. I feel like I have exhausted all options. Anyone else have this conundrum? By the way my camera instantly works on other computers that have XP. My vista computer will work other devices just not my Kodak camera.

I bet this is a UAC thing on Vista. Ensure you are an administrator, then run MSCONFIG and from the tools menu select Disable UAC. UAS usually screwa most things up.
Also found this under Code 10 on google… may help
Code 10 means there aint enough room left take up wise. Find those devices you don’t use – like com1 and com2 (serialports) uninstall them in device administrator, shut down and disable them in bios.

Firstly, it wasn’t clear whether you were certainly installing the software off of the CD. Make sure that you do, as some hardware isn’t inherently compatible with Vista. Ensure that you bed in the drivers off of the CD while the camera is uninstalled and before you plug it in to your computer.
Additionally, make sure you run the software in ‘Windows XP’ compatibility mode: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/by-windows-vista-compatibility-mode/
Though, unfortunately it is possible that your camera simply isn’t compatible with Windows Vista.

If you have windows XP, you don’t need drivers. XP has them built in.

When u buy a new digital camera they also supply you a cd containing the software to run it on a PC. If u do not have this with you delight visit kodak website and down load it. Alternatively you may visit downlod.com also.

If you get a card reader, no additional software is necessary. This is not only quicker, but it saves your camera batteries. Your computer or printer may even have a card reader built into it. I have enough USB ports that I just leave it plugged in all the time.
First of all, be sure there are some pictures on the card. Plug the card reader into an open USB port. Plug the card into the apt slot on your card reader. I use Photoshop Elements and as soon as I plug my card into the reader, it starts its own card reader and displays a thumbnail of each picture on the card.
If this does not happen automatically, open your photo editing software. Do whatever you usually do to open a file, but click on the selector everywhere you can change drives. Your card reader will be assigned a new drive name that will be one letter higher than you ever saw before, such as “Drive G:” or such. Then, just double click on the name of the file you want to open and it will appear in your photo editor.
