iPod Touch or Digital Camera?

iPod Touch or Digital Camera?

Each year my parents get me this one main Christmas present and then get me small accessories and clothing items on the side, and this year they chose to have me choose what i wanted to receive as my main gift. I was thinking either the new ipod touch or a digital camera, but i really wasn’t too sure. I have an ipod touch already but it’s the ancient one without the camera and there’s a crack on the upper left hand corner so it sort of bothers me. i mean i like my ipod and i can’t picture for myself without it, but it would be nice to have a new one. also the ipod touch has a camera function so it’d be like killing two birds with one stone.
& ive always wanted a digital camera. i was thinking either a sony or a canon, it doesn’t matter as long as it’s compact and has a video/camera function. i don’t do photography as a leisure activity or anything, i just want it so i can store memories into it i estimate.
I know i can’t get both because that would just be asking too much seeing as my parents already chose to get my sister a mac this year and i know that they really couldn’t afford to buy three really expensive items. so for the people out there that have used both or either of them, could you just give me a few suggestions or tips on how to choose? which one would you prefer?

iPod touch certainly.
if you’re not into photography, you dont really need a super nice camera, so you can use your ipod.
like you said, killing two birds with one stone.

The Ipod Touch does everything you want. Certainly go with that. It has a excellent camera and it gives you the camera, music player, web browser, apps… all in one.

You can get the newest model 8GB Ipod Touch AND a $ 25 gift card for $ 205 right now. It’s the best deal I have found.

Read the details/reviews and find the deal here:

The most cost effective solution taking in consideration your parent’s resources would be to trade in your ancient ipod for a new one. You lose no technical capabilities and you can do far more with a new ipod touch 3rd or 4th generation over a camera only. At least look at the cameras now installed in the ipod touch and see if they meet your needs. They place some pretty excellent camera technology in these units, but it depends what you are trying to shoot to best know if the touch can hold you over in the area of photos.

Best.

You do not need anything special to transfer your 8cm DVds to your computer – just do it this way

Use a programme such as Ulead VideoStudio – you take the mini-disc out of your camcorder and place it into the DVD tray of your PC making sure it sits centrally in the small depression made for it. You may have to ‘finalise’ the mini DVD your camera manual will tell you how to do that – but you should note that once a DVD is finalised you cannot record any more video on it.

Inside VideoStudio you select “Insert DVD” and point the programme at the DVD and follow the prompts and the video is copied from the disc into the timeline of VideoStudio so that you can edit it – add lots of different videos together – add titles/music/narration – make a file that you can e-mail or upload to ‘Youtube’ etc. and finally burn to a full size DVD to play in a standard player.

Full details and a one month free trial of VideoStudio from :-
