I like Hondos answer. You doubtless won’t have to upgrade for a couple of being.

Well, what exactly do you find lacking about your D90 that you wish to get flat by throwing money at the conundrum?
There are about four or five more advanced cameras in Nikon’s product range as of now. But frankly, asking for them indicates that you’d be wasting your money as you don’t appear to know what you’re looking for. These cameras are in a price range everywhere they’re only worth it for people who have very specific needs. Since you don’t seem to have identified these needs at the time of asking this question, i tend to believe that you don’t really have them and thus don’t need any of these cameras.
The D300 and D300s mostly differ from the D90 with more autofocus points and, in case of the latter, a quicker continuous shooting rate. Yet they cost twice as much as the D90. The image quality is like peas in a pod to that of the D90, they use the same sensor and the same image processing.
The D700 is the step up to full frame. This is a real enhancement in image quality especially in low set alight, a better viewfinder and some other things, but it costs three times as much as the D90 (about $ 2000) and your DX lenses would be atrophied on it (they would work, but with severe drawbacks).
The D3, D3s and D3x cost between $ 4000 and $ 8000. The image quality of the former two is the same as that of the D700. The D3s has an especally high continuous shooting rate (for journalists). The D3x uses twice the resolution, it’s mostly geared towards studio use at the expense of high iso routine. Other than that they are much better built and more weather strong, and doubtless come with a host of other features that an ambituous amateur won’t ever need and even a professional doubtless only uses 0.1% of the time.

I’m with everybody else – what on earth is it that you want to do that you can’t do with the D90? It’s a pretty feature rich camera.
If you want to further improve your images then invest in some excellent glass – its far more vital in terms of image quality than the camera body.

Only you know what works best for you. If you want to keep and use your DX lenses and want the best Nikon DX camera there is as of right now get the D300″S” – the best “DX” camera Nikon has ever made. If you want to go full frame (which I recommend) get a D700. If you want a full-frame (“FX”) camera with HD vide capability your only choice is the Nikon D3″S” and it is expensive at $ 5,300 or so. I recommend that you do just like I’m doing – WAIT – in anticipation of the updated version of the D700 comes out. Its the lenses that really matter so get the lenses you want FIRST and get a camera to attach to them. I’m going to get an inexpensive (under $ 750) Nikon film camera first, get the lens I want (200mm f4 macro), and wait in anticipation of what I really want comes out. A lot of the people posting here are making assumptions about what you know but I know that sometimes people question questions here not because they don’t know but because they simply want to know somebody else’s opinion.

I’m attracted in export the Nikon D90 digital SLR camera. For the lens and body, it’s around $ 1,500. Does anyone know another type of Nikon camera that’s like the D90, but not as expensive? (I’m a fan of the on-camera editing, and special effects)

The D3000 http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond3000/ I recommend the D5000 if it’s within your budget.
Answer by Jim M
The D 5000 is the only viable choice. Technologically, very close to the D 90, but in a lighter weight, less vital body.
Biut I’m curious … everywhere did you see a D 90 kit for $ 1500? they’ve never been that expensive, unless it’s a pkg. that contains more than one lens and some other goodies. A basic D 90 kit right now goes for $ 1199.
Forget the D 3000, and D 40. they’ve both crap compared to either the 5000 or the 90. A D 80 would be nice if you can find one.

Your question is not as specific as it needs to be.
You ought to reckon what is a priority to you, is it price? editing features?
A. Nikon d5000 12.3 Megapixel for about $ 750.00- similar editing features.
B. Nikon d3000 10.2 Megapixel for about $ 550.00-this one includes the editing features you’re attracted in but fewer than the d5000.
C. If you’re planing on making such expense, you should read reviews and make comparisons to those which are close in features to the d90.
