How to disassemble a kodak easyshare Z740 camera.?

I recently got sand in my kodak easyshare camera and I can’t afford to replace it and was wondering how to take it apart to get the sand out. Like a guide or directions, or links anything helps.

Thanks

You can’t.

Frankly, you will very liable ruin the camera in trying to mend it. There are hundreds of precision components assembled in a very small space and the sand could have got into anywhere and nearly everywhere in the camera. If you feel competent mending a mechanical watch then go ahead, if not, try for an insurance claim or buy a new camera – make sure you get a dust and waterproof one.

I have a kodak easyshare M1036 that i got for Christmas, which worked well just a few days ago. I tried turning it on now and it will only turn on for a second, not long enough for a picture and then it shuts off. I charged the battery over night, but still nothing, What might be the conundrum, and how could i fix it?

Did you drop it? The same thing happened to me a few days after I dropped it. I just finished up export a new camera. You could try taking it to best buy.. they repair electronics. or you could write to the kodak company.

If you can set to favorites and still view your pictures, then its not your battery. If on view or picture taking mode your lens comes out then goes back in straight away and shuts off. Then you have something slowing your lens from coming out and the camera then shuts off (doubtless sand or dirt ). If under warranty get it back quick to have it flat as long as it has not been dropped or got wet (they will inspect for these things). If no warranty and you really have no options and it is a lens issue either get it cleaned or simply turn on / off a 100 or so times and what ever is slowing your lens may work itself out. Hope this helps.
