Broken Cameras?
What do you reckon is the most bizarre way you’ve heard of for killing a digital camera? Lets see a Top 10 List.
For #1, I nominate the poor small digital camera that died when body wash was used to clean its lens.
One entry per answer, delight.
Answer by Pooky
Dropped because the wrist strap is not used (either still in the box), or not around the person’s wrist in the first house.
Shove the memory card in backward.
Take it to the beach.
Let brother, sister or friend use it.

Left the camera in the console of my car while it went through the carwash. I turned my back for a minute while they were quickly cleaning the inside and it was gone. I didn’t realize this in anticipation of later and the carwash title-holder didn’t want to hear it. It may not be broken, but it’s a waste of time to me!
Did you miss this one?
“when i was turning it off i accidenly was hollding the lens so it stoped coming in in the prosses of turining it off “

“OMG, my boyfriend’s sister, OK he’s not my boyfriend anymore but his sister is still his sister, borrowed it and went to the Jonas Brothers concert and aren’t they soooooo hottttt but she left it under the seat and went back to the lost and found and the cute guy had it but it had gum all over it so we place it in the washing machine at my cousin’s house to clean it and now it doesn’t work. How do we take it back to Best Buy and get it flat for free?”
Answer by Chaz
Someone dropped their dad’s camera on the ceramic tile floor in the bathroom and it broke. That’s not so bizarre, but I’m sure the excuse offered to Dad was a lot more bizarre than the certainty.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I’m still laughing at V2K1 ‘s answer, that’s the most amusing thing I’ve read in ages, he’s got teenagers down pretty well !
Thanks for that.
My answer is dull… I saw one knocked off a kitchen counter into the dog’s water bowl. Whoops.

I am looking to buy a digital camera geared for a more serious photographer. I am no longer attracted in the point and shoot cameras and seek your advice as to which camera I should buy. I am willing to spend roughly 500 dollars.
Right now my top choice is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50K 10.1 Megapixel 12x Optical/2x Digital Zoom Digital Camera… hopefully that gives you some thought as to what I am attracted in.
Any insight, suggestions are appreciated.
God Bless

The FZ50, while closer to a DSLR than a pocket clicker, is still a point & shoot. There are numerous P&S cameras that provide a lot of flexibility but they all suffer from the same conundrum that normal P&S cams do:
A tiny sensor
The very small sensor is what allows the huge zooms to exist, otherwise, you’d spend a few thousand dollars on the lens.
High-end P&S models that you may want to look at, beyond the 50:
Olympus SP-550
Sony DSC-H9
You can get started in a DSLR for about $ 500 by going with the Pentax 100D but export more lenses will place you over your stated limit.

www.dpreview.com did an extensive review of this camera.
Go over there and equate the results to those of other p&s cameras.
Then equate the images with those from a bottom-line DSLR like the Nikon D40.
This should help you make your choice.
