Q&A: Which camera should I choose?
Nikon D3000 or List EOS 1000D / Digital Rebel XS
Here is a side by side comparison http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_post.asp?method=sidebyside&cameras=nikon_d3000%2Ccanon_eos1000d&camsel=nikon_d3000&show=all
They are just about the same price. Which would would you choose? Why?
*I am a beginner photographer, and would just like to take pictures with quick shutter speeds, manual focus, excellent zoom, and a all around excellent and simple camera!

I reckon Nikon cameras are simpler to operate, just because I know the way they reckon. I have to admit that I am a Nikon user and I have a bias towards Nikon, but I will quickly admit that the List is an brilliant camera. It depends on a couple of things. You have to go to a store and pick each one up. Even if you don’t reasonably know what you are looking at, one may feel better to you. The buttons might have better spacing for your fingers on one or the additional.
Do you have a friend who owns a Nikon or List? That might influence you also. If you have to question someone questions, it will be simpler if they use the same brand as you. A higher end camera in any line will work a bit different from these models, but at least your friend will have an thought where to look without referring to the owner’s manual.
Go here: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_post.asp?method=sidebyside&cameras=canon_eos1000d%2Cnikon_d3000&show=all and click on “Read owners opinions” under each camera. Then you can click on the mini-reviews by actual owners of the cameras and see if that helps you choose.

I like and trust List digital cameras in general. Both SD750 and SD1000 are 7.1 MP and nearly the same price and same dimensions. I don’t need a camera with higher MP and the price is withing my budget but I don’t know which one to buy. Which one would you recommend? Thanks!
This is a comparison between the two models which only made it harder for me to select http://www.walmart.com/catalog/loadClickToCompare.do?catNavId=597465&ic=48_0&ref=125875.137971+500500.4294296060&selected_items=5623013%7C5623012

sd1000 has a more cubic shape than sd750,and it is a small bit smaller in dimensions, but sd750 has a larger lcd that earnings with same battery sd1000 will work more.in my opinion because both are the same in properties buy the one that is cheaper.

I would spend some more money to get a model with image stabilization such as SD850 IS.
