digital camera xd memory card?
okay so i have a xd memory card for a olympus digital camera and during my vacation in korea the card read as an error and the memory card has about 170 picutres and they are very vital.
so i tried to send the card to an A&S center and they told me that i may maybe only save one picture.
i really need persons pictures but don’t know what to do.

This is terrible news.
One of the things that we professionals do is transfer all of our images from our memory cards to our notebook computers at the end of each day. In addition once we have enough images saved we then make a backup CD.
The last overseas trip I was on, I had two 4GB cards and six 2GB cards. These cards were used, images saved and formatted while I was on the trip.
The excellent news is that you may be able to recover persons images using some recovery software that is available on the Internet.
In the future, do what the pros do. Save and back up all your images when you are roving and when at home.
PS: Clean the gold contacts with some alcohol and then try again downloading again using a card reader or using the card reader on your computer or printer.

Unfortunatly, there is nothing you can do.
But for the future, any proffesional Photography will tell you to keep backups of your photos in at least 3 places, (xd card, computer, CD).

We drove through Yosemite high country in the dark of night on the way to Mt. Whitney. On the way back we saw the beauty that we had missed before.
It got to be too much and Tim chose he had to pull over and have a rest and a look. The first time we pulled over, I got a breathtaking view of Pywiack Dome and the peaks surrounding Tenaye lake.
I pulled out my camera and took this panoramic, though my memory card was nearly full.
When I stitched this shot, I found out that I no longer have the originals! This one has been corrected for distortion and maybe for color. Lucily the exposure was close enough that the merge went well. The blown highlights in the center of the frame give it an ethereal quality that I did my best to preserve.
I fixed the noise in the shot in the incorrect order.

i was going to upload some photos today but my computer wont read my memory card!!!!! i DO NOT have a usb cord or whatever, so this is probably the only way i can upload photos [which wont work]. i restarted my computer, cleaned it with a cloth, made sure there wasnt any dust in the slot, and nothing works. my parents bought the camera from a guy at their work, and im not sure if it did come with a usb cord, but i dont reckon so. the memory card worked all the time, but for some reason, now it doesnt. the computer just wont detect it! the card is in excellent coditions; no scratches, fingerprints, etc. the guy was not a fraud because everything worked perfectly. the camera detects it but just not my pc…any help??
im not looking forward to buying a new memory card..the photos were vital. i dont reckon i want to buy anythig extra any! anyways…thanks in advance.
are there any alternatives?
ps.
i have a sandisk card & the camera model is an Olympus digital camera c-400 zoom.
haha pun tale.
idk why, but suddenly i place the memory card into the slot and the light indicator turned on!!! yaaay!
well, now im able to get my pictures.
i dont reckon “try again tomorrow” was anyones answer, so ill just thumbs up everyone. (:

Well basically, you must check what MODEL your SD card is. There are many models but in case you don’t know, the two major types are SD Card (Normal) and SD Memory Stick Duo and I judge they can fit in the same slot, but doesn’t mean your computer will read it, so just look at your SD card.
