so i have a sony digital video camera dcr-trv280 ntsc and i cant hook it to my pc.?

The Sony DCR-TRV280 is a Digital8 tape based camcorder.

To get digital record from the tape to the computer, you connect a firewire cable to the camcorder’s DV port and the computer’s firewire port. Firewire, IEEE1394, DV and i.LINK are all the same business. USB won’t work. USB-to-firewire cable/converter/adapter/hub things won’t work.

If your computer does not have a firewire port, hopefully it has an available extension slot so you can add one.

u mean the PAL version? Sony always place the letter ‘e’ at the end of each model for the Pal version (e stands for europe, but applies to all pal countries). Like for example, the model FX1 is called FX1E here, and the model above is called HC41E..
