Is the nook color worth buying?

Is the nook color worth buying?

I got a nook for Christmas. Inwas plotting on exchanging it for the nook color. But, best buys warehouse is out of stock right now and inwas wondering if it’s even worth it to me to wait for it or if the nook I have is just as excellent, better etc.

Hi, Tony, it depends on what you’re plotting to use your device for – if all you read is black & white novels then the better one would be e-Ink Nook. If you read electronic magazines or college text books with a lot of color graphs and charts or children's’ books with a lot of pictures then the better would be Nook Color from Barnes & Noble. Nook Color is a hybrid Android eReader/tablet and has USB port (disparate iPad). It has a new generation screen which is anti-glare coated and is better the theater in sunlight and for sinking eye strain than iPad’s. The screen is one of the best and sharpest on the market and it’s viewable at wide angles.

In small, I won’t choose iPad or Nook Color, because they’re using backlight screen like computer screen, and is hard to our eyes. Just not suitable for reading purpose. For additional ebook readers including the B&N Nook, Sony Reader, and Amazon Kindle, I’ll go for the Kindle. For the Sony Reader, many books (especially new releases) cannot be easily find on it. For the Nook, it is excellent but it is slower and less user friendly compared to the new version of Kindle.

There is also reasonably a excellent comparison between the ebook readers here:

We bought our campervan from Antony at Chester Street Backpackers in Christchurch for NZ ,550 (approximately US ,970). It’s a 1988 Toyota Town Ace "Super Extra" with about 275,000 km (about 170,000 miles) on it and more than a few dents in the sides and front, which we reckon give the van character.

It’s positively common practice for travelers to buy ancient vehicles here and use them to tour the country, then turn around and sell them to a fellow traveler to do the same. We’ll be looking to sell our van right around the start of summer here, which is apparently the best time to sell a van because of the high demand. Our hope is that we can at least make back the money we paid for it. We had to pay cash for the van, so we hung around Christchurch for several days withdrawing the daily maximum from the ATM until we may maybe get enough cash.

It didn’t come with any cooking gear, so we were told we should go to a place called the Super Shed to find what we needed. It was described as the last stop before the dump, a place for public to bring household items that they would otherwise throw away. Many items are also salvaged from the trash and cleaned/polished/fixed up. Based on these descriptions, I was pretty hesitant to go there to hold the items we’d be using to prepare our food. I pictured a huge warehouse with piles of trash that we’d have to pick through. Seth, on the additional hand, was tickled by the prospect of such a place and convinced me that we should take a look.

He was really right. Even if everything needed a thorough scrubbing, we got some incredible bargains and walked out with all of our cutlery and an organizer, two kitchen knives, bowls, plates, cups, mugs, a can starter, a bottle starter, a straw basket, two camping chairs and a sun umbrella for a grand whole of .50. My personal favorite section was the "10 items for " aisle. None of the outdoor furniture had a price on it, so you had to just find an employee, show them what you had picked up, and they would eyeball a price. We still had to hold some cookware that we weren’t able to find at the Super Shed, but we left that place with huge smiles on our faces.

i noticed this back when i used to work for best buy as well as every year after. they never really have anything on a release date unless it’s REALLY anticipated. like today, i tried to go get the new street hop by royce, which today is the official release date even on BEST BUY’S website. and THEY still don’t have it. has any person else tried to go get the new royce cd from best buy only to be disappointed that they don’t have it at all? the one i went to where i live said that even their WAREHOUSE doesn’t have it. so WTF? does this mean that they’re not even going to carry it?
what’s the point of a release date if the product isn’t unrestricted?

Idk, i didn’t go today to look for Royce’s album, but I usually get a new album 2 or 3 x per month and they have always had what I was looking for. That’s pretty bogus though…

They probably just ship it to their supplies on the release date. I’m sure if you go in a few days, they’ll have it.
