I can't find the disk for my Sony DCR-DVD203 digital camera, any ideas where I can D/L the software?

The Sony website only has updates for the drivers, not the software :(

Try it this way instead

Use a programme such as Ulead VideoStudio – you take the mini-disc out of your camcorder and place it into the DVD tray of your PC making sure it sits centrally in the small depression made for it. You may have to ‘finalise’ the mini DVD your camera manual will tell you how to do that.

Inside VideoStudio you select “Insert DVD” and point the programme at the DVD and follow the prompts and the record is copied from the disc into the timeline of VideoStudio so that you can edit it – add lots of different videos collectively – add titles/music/narration – and finally burn to a full size DVD to play in a standard player.

i bought a new computer with pre-installed windows vista, but
the first software that came with the camera is only compatible with 1998, 2000 and XP.
is there anyway i may maybe find a new driver?

There are no Vista drivers for that model. The only option Sony offers on their support site is purchasing another copy of the CD that came with it, which won’t help you much.

Usually you don’t need a driver – try just connecting the camera to your computer’s USB port. A new drive should appear in My Computer – that’s the memory stick inside your camera. Copy the files from it to your My Pictures folder just like you’d copy any additional files.

You may maybe also hold a card reader that you plug into your computer’s USB port that will read the memory stick. If connecting the camera doesn’t work, give that a shot.
