Any other camera suggestions?

Any other camera suggestions?

My camera broke about a month and a half ago, and I was looking to buy a new one. I was looking at this camera:
http://www.target.com/Sony-Cybershot-12-1MP-Digital-Camera/dp/B001SEQPFQ/sr=1-1/qid=1241386115/ref=sr_1_1/190-5145383-9729809?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=0&index=target&rh=k%3ASony%20Cyber-shot%20S980&page=1http://www.target.com/Sony-Cybershot-12-1MP-Digital-Camera/dp/B001SEQPFQ/sr=1-1/qid=1241386115/ref=sr_1_1/190-5145383-9729809?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=0&index=target&rh=k%3ASony%20Cyber-shot%20S980&page=1

I want one that’s 12 Megapixels, and no more than $ 200

Any suggestions are welcome!

When it comes to DSLRs, Nikon is generally considered to be the better option, though Canon is a very worthy competitor. I would suggest you go through this ranking list :

When it comes down to it, the only difference between them is how they feel in your hand. You won’t be able to tell which camera took which picture. They are equal in the image quality side of things.

Of the three, the Sony is more advanced, and has a live view system that is actually useful.

The Canon or the Nikon are easier to find more lenses and accessories for in most stores. Not so easy for the Sony.

Find place that sells all three in the store… Best Buy does. Play with them for a few minutes, see which one fits your hands better. Buy that one.

Canon and Nikon digital SLR cameras are tied in terms of customer satisfaction, although Canon received better marks in terms of image quality while Nikons were easier to use

My opinion and from the many pictures I’ve seen from both Canon and Nikon – Nikon has better image quality and better conformation.

However, I would suggest going with the Nikon D40 from Amazon. It is around $ 400, and is better than the new Nikon D3000.
