which is the best brand in digital photo cameras?

I’m trying to choose for myself in choosing a digital camera.
i chose to question advice from the “experts” .
I would like for the participants to give me their opinion.
Which is the best brand in digital photo cameras (overall commonly chose)?
Is there a consensus in the best camera?

Pentax and Nikon are the best. Nikon cameras are used by most professionals. I prefer Pentax becasue it is user-friendly, and Canon but not Sony.

If you’re looking for something professional, you can’t go incorrect with a Nikon or a Canon. They have some incredible SLRs. The Canon Digital Rebel is a lot more affordable than some of the Nikon ones, though obviously the Nikon ones are more professional and standard.

If you’re looking for a point and shoot, then Sony makes some nice ones. So does Fuji with the Finepix series.

If you are not an expert photographer Sony’s Cybershot cameras are fantastic. I’m terrible at taking pictures, but with my Sony Cybershot they still turn out looking excellent.

no concensus which is why there are so many on the promote still..I have many friends who like Canon cameras. I for myself jsut bought a PS S3 and absolutley like this camera. I would definitly reccomend it as one of the better ones for the price. around 300 bucks. I also like canon because they have so many models. A lot of people also like Nikon. It seems people like whatever kind they have personally invested in. Both cameras are very highly regarded but there are more out there.

I’m an orthodontist and I want to have recommendations on the best brands/models of digicams that can take sharp and detailed pictures of teeth or any structures inside the mouth. I’m not really a professional photographer, so I prefer “user-friendly” cameras that can meet my above-mentioned needs. Thanks

You will need a DSLR camera, a macro lens and a ring sparkle. Go to a real camera store – not a store that sells 10,001 other things and cameras – and talk to a professional camera salesperson. There are also dental supply houses that sell the equipment you need.

You’ll need an digital SLR camera, plus a macro lens, plus a ring sparkle.

Point and shoot cameras don’t properly set alight macros, making shadows which hide detail.

You can set an SLR on “automatic” which will make it function just like a point and shoot. It’s just that all those buttons and the size make it intimidating.

I would suggest the Nikon D80, the R1 macro sparkle, and the Tamron 90mm f/2.8 macro lens as the way to go.

On a budget? The Fujfilm S2 Pro, a Sunpak macro sparkle with Nikon-compatible module, and the Tamron 90mm would work too.
