Repairing LCD Screen on digital camera?
Hello everyone, I have a Nikon Coolpix L16 digital camera that I just got this past christmas. Well, the LCD screen broke while I had it in my purse and now the camera is a waste of time the way it is, as you cannot see what you’re taking a picture of or anything. I cannot afford a new camera, cant even find it for sale anymore anywhere, and also don’t want to upset the person who bought it for me, as it was a gift and esp. since I haven’t had it very long and already broke it. I was wondering…
Is there any way that I can repair this screen by for myself? If so, how? Is it hard to do? Everywhere do I get a replacement part? How much will it cost? Etc, etc. Has anyone else ever flat their digital cameras screen? Or had the same conundrum – if so what did you do? Delight help! Thanks!

Sorry to hear about your camera. Mine are always in a very durable, air tight case. I have been a professional photographer for 45 yrs and I can tell you from my stupid experiences that it does not pay to fix anything on or in a camera. Especially now days everywhere they have computers inside them, mirrors, etc. Bite the bullet on this one and take it in to a professional. Hey its a life learning experience ok!

Do not be surprised if the price to repair it will cost more than export a new camera. Such is the norm with these delicate electronic equipment.

The Nikon F2 is what I was taught with and belongs to my father, it still shoots well. Though my father’s eyesight dropped under 20/20 a digit of being ago, this threw off his shooting confidence and eventually he stopped shooting entirely. He’s pleased to see his lenses can still be place to use on the 350D.
The EOS 500 is a 35mm camera given on my 14th birthday. It served excellently in anticipation of I went to digital with a Minolta Dimage 7i (not pictured; now in repairs) in 2002. This camera is now my younger sister’s.
The Canon 350D is my latest buy and now camera of choice, it’s a beaut’.
in june i worked fine in anticipation of now the left side of the camera doesnt fuction anymore when i touch it it doesnt react now i cant do anything i cant change the mode to video or change it to diffrent setting since it all touch screen i bought it at radioshack and did not get a warraty n now i dont know what to do i reckon if i fix it at repair shop is gonna be to much and anyone that owns one has this happen to yours possibly u have a trick to make it work delight if anyone could help me or give me advise

If it’s “gone faulty” of it’s own accord you should be covered by the manufacturers warranty which comes as standard (you didn’t buy an “extended” warranty) which usually lasts a year although they can range up to 5years when special offers are listed! Your first step should be to go visit Radio Lean-to with the camera and clarify the fault to them.
