Is An Olympus All-Weather Digital Camera Waterproof?

I’m going to try to use it in the pool.. it has different settings such as “Water 1″ and “Water 2″, but is it water proof? Can I use it underwater? It’s my stepmoms and I don’t want to break it -.-

Should be. Olympus has numerous models that are waterproof from 10 feet to 33 feet. Just check the model digit at the Olympus site. http://www.olympusamerica.com

My u800 is weather proof but NOT waterproof.
The seals will keep rain and dust out but it’s not suitable to go in the pool.

Even if it was a waterproof camera, if she hasn’t replaced the seals in the past year it may not still be waterproof.

I have seen numerous complaints about the Olympus waterproof cameras lately stopping working after by them underwater. I don’t know if all-weather means waterproof but with those settings, I would estimate so.

I have the 1030 SW, and it’s a decent camera. If you are inclined to use it in environments everywhere it has a excellent chance of getting wet I would highly recommend it.

In my opinion, if you don’t particularly need the waterproof feature, I would recommend something else.
