i will buy a camera,what do u think should i buy? the Nikon D80 SLR digital camera,Olympus's E-10 SLR digital

ill be by it in photography so what do u reckon is the best camera that i can used?

Go for the D80. It’s newer, quicker, and has better high ISO noise routine than the E-10.

Also, the D80 would let you use Nikon’s large range of lenses and flashes. The E-10 uses a flat 4x mechanical zoom.

The E-10 leans more towards a point and shoot camera than the Nikon D80. You will have more control and a better selection on lens and belt’s with a D80 than a E-10.

If you are talking about the E-510, I already have one. It’s a fantastic camera with a full range of digital Zuiko lenses avilable. It also has in body IS, so all lenses have IS. Not just a few expensive ones. Even my T-mount 420-800mm lense benefits. The E-510 really compares well in features and quality to the D80. Olympus has been a top maker of quality cameras for a long time. Olympus tends to be a better value overall.

My Olympus E-500 and Zuiko Digital 40-150mm f/3.5-4.5 lens…

Just last night I broke 70,000 actuations…
Just this morning I bought its "replacement"…

This camera has been the best piece of equipment I’ve ever used, hands down.
And I’ve used many, many different setups from nearly all of the companies (spare Hassy, Leica, Sigma, etc.)

i wanted to buy a digital camera but couldn’t choose between canon or olympus.which is the best by it price, picture and everything.i don’t want to regret at the end of the day.help me!!!!!!!!

my personal take is canon generally would edge out olympus for value and quality. check out both brands though and equate models/features and results between the brands in your price range. fyi – in a googlefight canon is 405M to olympus 145M

Canon make the best camera overall, especially in point and shoot, they in the lead for sure. Olympus might look excellent in the paper, but don’t mean they are better camera, largest downpoint for olympus is they image quality is not in the same levels as nikon or canon. Plus Olympus point and shoot are too pricey in my opinion. Canon is the choice!

It really depends on which model you are comparing.

Which level of Point and Shoot, Prosumer, or DSLR?

The top 2 review sites in my book are DPReview and Steve’s Digicams. Both sites provide comprehensive technical reviews.
They even provide side-by-side comparisons.

For instance the Olympus E-500 is compared to the Canon Rebel XTi. The Canon barely edges out the Olympus in image quality, and when I say barely it’s because the Canon does better in higher ISO’s. But for features and controls, the Olympus surpasses the Canon.

Read the reviews carefully and completely.

Saying Canon is better then Olympus or saying just the contrary, is not very realistic or objective- it all boils down which two specific models are being compared. Each manufacture builds brilliant models and each has built their share of dogs.

I recommend to stay away from review sources that build ratings based on user reviews because they are about as inaccurate as it gets.
