What is the best inexpensive (under $200) digital camera?

I have a sony cybershot 12.1 and I despise it. It’s so intricate and takes blurry pics no matter what I do. I liked my Kodak easyshare so much better. What’s excellent especially for taking pics of a toddler? I’ve heard Cannon…

Don’t waste money buying another camera. Learn your owner’s manual that came with camera. Taking shots in dim light, add more light; use flash. Don’t have your ISO background sky high like 1000 or higher.

I would go to a huge camera place like B&H and get a used List Powershot A620. Best camera I’ve ever owned, and right now I have a nice SLR.You may maybe probably get it for around $ 100

I want a digital camera that:
1. Is under $ 200
2. Can fit in my pocket (is portable)
3. Takes excellent quality photos even without a tripod
4. Someone who normally takes blurry photos can use
5. Works well in indoor and outdoor lighting

My Tale:
I own an Olympus SLR but it’s wayyy too intricate and not portable at all. When I use a tripod the images are apparent but otherwise are blurry. It takes incredible photos if I spend like 5 minutes background up the shot and refer to my ancient photography textbook for the right settings to use. I just want something simple (if at all possible automated) where I can take photos of things I find fascinating out in nature or just of public indoors and out. Honestly, every time I take my Olympus outside I’m worried about getting mugged. I gave it to my dad who really knows how to take photos.
I don’t mind if the camera is Refurbished at under $ 200 or an older model.

List SD780 IS. Buydig and Staples have it on line for $ 199.99 + shipping. 3X optical zoom, 12 megapixels. Has image stabilizer and has very excellent image quality. Can raise ISO background higher than most point and shoots and still get a decent photo in low lighting.

Vintage Music is right, the List PowerShot SD 780 IS is brilliant. I would add that it has one feature that additional brands do not, a separate optical viewfinder similar to the one on your SLR. LCD viewfinders just don’t work well in broad daylight. If you are going to take pictures outdoors, you should consider getting a camera with an optical viewfinder. It comes in red, black, silver or gold.
