Its features are limited, and print quality is only fair compared to most popular digital cameras in the market.

Even you like small size, the SD630 weights about 6 oz, there are quite a few other models out there that are just as small, and will perform better.

Look at your budget, I will suggest another small camera:

Casio Exilim EX-Z850

It has notably better picture quality than the SD630.

If you can go for a little bigger models, Canon's Powershot A710IS will be a good choice, it weights about 9 oz.

Bigger yet, I will buy the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2.

In general bigger ones should perform better with the sacrifice of convenience. But technology has gotten better and better. Today's tiny models are even better than bigger models just 2 years ago.

I will not suggest Advanced models which are even bigger and heavier, not to mention DSLR models.

About brand name, Canon does make good products, but the market is very competitive, so talking about specific models is better than just going by the brand.

Hope this will help.

I just purchased the Winait DC500F camera from eBay and now I am nervous that I got swindled. Can anyone tell me about the quality of this camera? Any reviews? Also, does anyone know anything about Winait digital cameras in general? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, I guess it just depends on how much you paid. It would help if you added a link to the actual listing from ebay.

Is this the camera you bought?:

The lens opening looks to be very small and there is no mention of the exact range of the lens either. No mention of ISO, aperture or shutter speed ranges either. From the looks and limited description, and the fact that I have never heard of the brand, I would assume that it is fairly low quality and would be mediocre for prints, but would probably suffice for photos that will only be shared online.

I’ve read about the same brand a few weeks back here in Yahoo! Answers. All answers were practically saying the same thing. If its too good to be true, it ain’t.
