which digital camera should i buy, the olympus mju840 or the canon powershot A570is?

For the Roulette group: "Self With Camera"

The silver camera is my first digital that I bought about 7 or 8 years ago. It had a whopping 1 million pixels (and a few).

My trusty C-5050 I bought nearly 4 years ago and I like it.

The additional business is my Motorola Razr V3r. I avoid to use it. Its camera function is crap, even if it has nearly as many pixels as the D-360L (still it’s way inferior quality).

I can not tell by looking at the pictures on e-bay which one I need. Can you help?

I looked at the Olympus WWW site, and didn’t see any neck straps – just cases. (see reference). But, many of the smaller carrying cases appear to have, or be set up for, a neck strap.

I suggest you look at an area retailer with a photo department, like Wal Mart, K-Mart, or Best Buy. They often carry neck straps, and decent small carrying cases with neck strap or belt loop options. Bring your camera into the store with you so you can see what fits without having to guess. That’s one of the advantages of going to a bricks-and-mortar store, no quessing if its a specialty item.

For one camera I have, I made my own neck strap by using some narrow woven “strapping” from a craft store, on which I sewed some eyelet clips and shoulder padding from the same place. Works fantastic.

small tip: dont buy any strap with a camera brand name on it. it makes it much nore vulnerable to theft. a generic strap will do – try B and H photo/record
