What is the best waterproof digital camera currently on the market?

What is the best waterproof digital camera currently on the market?

I’m a small skeptical on what I should get. Whenever I plot on buying a digital camera all I look for is reviews reviews reviews.

Any suggestions on what I should get? I was thinking on the Olympus Stylus 1030SW, it seems to have nice quality to the pictures and seems durable, but then again I’m skeptical.

Btw I’m going to be using this camera for underwater picture taking only, I already have an SLR and a normal point and shoot for fixed shots.

Thanks :]

Ah, best P&S underwater camera … yes the Olympus is one of the better P&S underwater camera.

Scientists use underwater housing that can cost near double the cost of the camera inside … usually a nice $ 2,000 to $ 10,000 camera.

Hi,

I’ve been looking through Amazon recently for a excellent digital camera for general purposes. Photography is fun and fascinating, and there have been times when I’ve thought something was so pun and bummed out that I couldn’t capture it on camera. Summer’s approaching, and a few months ago [about six?] I did question about digital cameras, and made a definitive choice, but, lost interest due to cold weather and the fact I wouldn’t really use it at the time.

The camera I chose has gone up $ 50 in price and some cameras that are say, $ 50-70 cheaper, have more features and functions than it, so, the chances of me getting it are very slim. I’ve been looking around for a camera 99$ to 130$ , and even if I found some excellent picks, I reckon this Olympus Stylus Camera might suit me. It has pretty excellent reviews. 1-3 star reviews are minimal, and the only 2 star review seems kind of pointless to me.

I like the 5x optical zoom and super macro mode might be helpful for me since I grow plants, it’s pretty cheap, and has a combo deal for a SD Card and a Pack that would only make it cost about $ 125, cheaper than a $ 130 camera stand-alone. A HUGE plus to me is the inclusion of a battery w/ charger, as in many cameras there is only a battery, and the charger can be reasonably expensive.

I’m mainly focused on this particular camera, and am interested in hearing others’ opinions, suggestions as to additional cameras are welcome but I’m on a tight budget, and this one REALLY stuck out to me because of the reviews, built-in battery charger, and the excellent deal, not to mention super macro, 8.0 MP and it looks shiny.

I have viewed a few others, such as some List cameras, and even if they come close, they’re a bit on the more expensive side and have relatively the same features, not to mention a lack of a charger.

Any personal experiences with this camera would be fantastic. Here is a link to the camera I’m very interested in. I hope to buy quickly.
