What is the best digital camera under 200 dollars??

Answer by Eeyore
I only spent $ 100 on my Kodak simple share camera & I like it. Check out ebay. Lots of times they are refurbs, but I have always had excellent luck with them and the Kodak ones carry the same warranty as the Brand New ones do.

The Moon over The Shard
best digital camera under 0

I took this shot from the Thames Path East at Queenhithe during ‘blue hour’ of the moon rising above Southwark Join and the Shard.

================================================================================

In part the reason for my trip to London on Sunday was to further experiment with taking shots using the circular polarising filter I recently bought for my camera. This presented reasonably a challenge because most of the time I take my shots using manual settings later the Sunny-16 rule of thumb, i.e. background exposure for shots based on my judgement of the ambient light rather than the light detected by my camera’s sensor, which has served me well up until now.

Whilst the Sunny-16 principles for judging ambient lighting remains constant, the addition of a polarising filter on my camera’s lens, that by it’s design filters the light coming into the camera, meant that sticking to the Sunny-16 rule would likely result in many of my shot life considerably under-exposed. One solution to avoiding under-exposed shots whilst sticking to the Sunny-16 rule, would be to exchange the aperture down a few f/ stops to let more light in. But, this would most likely result in any over-exposed shots or uneven exposure which IMO is as terrible as under-exposure.

It would be honest to say I am not someone that photography comes naturally to and I have been on a steep learning curve when it comes to understanding many of the basic photography principles and how to go about using a DLSR camera best effect.

So after a wee bit of research on the brilliant Digicamhelp website I found out a possible solution to balancing exposure is to still set the aperture based on the Sunny-16 principle of ambient light but, rather than using a standard shutter speed of 1/100 or 1/200 (depending on ISO selected) for every shot, the thought is to exchange shutter speed to realize an evaluative metering of 0EV, or as near as, using the camera’s light meter readings with the polarising filter en suite.

The only disadvantage I have found in adjusting shutter speed to balance exposure is that it often requires selecting a shutter speed slower than 1/30 secs, which is about the limit for hand-held shots if you want to avoid risk of distortion, so many of the shots I took in London using these settings were taken with my camera mounted on a tripod with a 2 second timer delay. I also used my camera’s mirror lock-up feature when I took hand-held shots under 1/60 secs

I have had an HP Photosmart Digital Camera for the last 5 or 6 years and am looking to upgrade. The conundrum is, I am not very camera-savvy as far as options and prices go. I am looking for a point and shoot digital camera with the best megapixel quality and features under $ 200. I have heard that Nikkon makes some brilliant cameras, but please give me your opinions.
ALSO: My HP Photosmart uses a charging dock so I don’t have to worry about replacing batteries or anything like that. Please include in your answer whether the camera charges or needs battery replacement to operate.

I had the same situation as you about 2 months ago.
I’ve been using list and nikon cameras fo the past 4 years.
Your best bet would be list powershot a590 IS.
Its only 124$ now.

What I like about this camera is its usefulness and its simple-ness to use. It takes very high quality photos.
This camera has been overlooked by many public out there, too terrible for them.

THe only cons of this camera is its bulkiness and the fact that it uses double A batteries (AA’s).

But, its the quality of the photo taken that you want, not the camera itself. PLus, cameras that uses AA’s batteries tend to take
better pictures.

Another feature that
you can add lenses to it.

You need to check this camera out.
Its a bang for the buck.
