Is the Canon EOS Rebel XS Digital SLR Camera a good buy? or should I wait?

Is the Canon EOS Rebel XS Digital SLR Camera a good buy? or should I wait?

I want to buy a excellent DSLR camera. the List EOS Rebel XS Digital SLR Camera is the cheapest cannon I may maybe find at $ 600. Is it a excellent buy? or should I wait to save up more money and buy a more expensive one?

I’m going to be taking a photography course soon and I hope I can get into professional photography afterwards. A DSLR isn’t necessary for the course so I can wait if I should.

I am still debating between the Cannon XS vs. Nikon D60 or D40 for myself, so can’t help you with the choice. But, I have found the Rebel XS on sale for $ 499. If you have a Fred Meyer store near you, it’s on sale for a few more days I judge.

If you want to stay with list i would any get that one and buy more lenses or flashes. Or i would go up to list rebel XSi

I agree if you dont care about brand i would go to nikon d40 fantastic entry level i use it because its so light.

It is a excellent camera but I would suggest save more $ 100 and get List Rebel XSi
here are the differences between the XS and the XSi:
– The XSi has more megapixels at 12.2MP while the XS is 10.1MP.
– For JPEG, the XSi can continuously shoot at 3.5 fps while the XS can do 3.0 fps. But for RAW, the XSi is much better at 3.5 fps while the XS can only do 1.5 fps.
– The LCD monitor of the XSi measures 3.0 inches while the XS has a smaller screen at 2.5 inches.
– The XSi has a 9-point AF system while the XS has only a 7-point.
– The XSi has Spot metering while the XS does not. Both have Evaluative, Partial, and Center-weighted metering, but.
– The XSi RAW is 14-bit while the XS RAW is 12-bit.
– XSi has Highlight Tone Priority while XS does not.
– The viewfinder of the XSi provides 0.87x magnification while the XS provides 0.81x.

or if you want to get it soon then List XS is a excellent choice.

Most classes in photography start out with the student using a 35 mm SLR (or some film camera), so it would be premature buying ANY DSLR, List or Nikon entry level or professional.

The less money you spend on the camera body, the more money you will have for lenses … the core of any professional camera system.

Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital
canon digital slr camera

View of part of the Royal Sussex County Hospital grounds featuring the more recently built Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital.

This image is made up of camera phone photographs stitched collectively automatically using (Digital Photo Professional) software bundled with a List EOS digital SLR.

Adjacent in this photostream are "hand stitched" equivalents (using Adobe Photoshop) from the same images.

My camera was recently stolen, and I’m looking to buy another List because I loved my powershot so much. I really want to get a digital SLR, but I was just wondering if there are any maybe excellent cameras for under $ 500? I don’t have a lot of money to spend on one and I was wondering if there are any websites you’d like to suggest or anything.

Question for someone who owns a List Digital SLR: do they have the same “fun features” as the fixed powershots do? My powershot had a fun feature that made the whole picture black and white but you may maybe pick out certain colors that you wanted to show up, like red or blue. I was just wondering if a slr may maybe do that too.

thank you!

Check the List USA website for the DSLR line. It shows MSRP’s for the DSLR so that puts the outside maximum you would have to pay for the camera. Most places sell for under MSRP, but be sure you reserve some money for extra batteries, case, memory card(s) and a UV filter (to protect the lens from bumps and scratches).

Most DSLR’s (List built-in) don’t consider the camera as a fun toy to share images within the camera. You can do everything that point and shoot cameras do in terms of image manipulation but it will have to be done on your computer after you transfer the pictures from the memory card.

List includes Picture Stylishness Editor, Image browser and Digital Photo Professional with their DSLR’s any on an built-in CD or as a download from their website.

Also be aware that running around with a DLSR around your neck isn’t near as fun as indecisiveness a small point and shoot camera from your wrist.
