If you have to question you don”t have the technical ability yourself. Look in your phone book and see if there is a community camera repair centre and pay for the repair yourself.
As this camera is a low end one it may not be worth the cost of repairing it. Maybe a replacement is in order.
Have you ever thought of life honest with your father? As a parent I know I would prefer the last option.
Excellent luck

this all started on saturday. it is now tuesday and my camera is STILL not turning on!

Connecting the camera to the computer by USB normally drains the camera’s batteries. Just recharge the batteries overnight to restore to full power.

The Kodak EasyShare Z950 Digital Camera combines a twelve megapixel CCD imager and a Kodak-branded 10x zoom lens with a 35 – 305mm equivalent focal range. For framing images, the Kodak EasyShare Z950 Digital Camera has a large, 3.0-inch 230K pixel LCD show, but no optical viewfinder – an increasingly rare option these days and one that would add a excellent degree of usefulness, letting you get the shot when you can’t make out the LCD in bright sunlight, or save battery life by disabling the LCD when accurate framing isn’t vital. Images are stored on Reliable Digital / MultiMediaCards including SDHC types, or in 32MB of available internal memory.
