i lost the cd to download the driver, so how do i get the driver for my cam. DV55 sony Digital camera serial number 50103826.

go to sony.com and search for the drivers for that make

I’m assuming you mean something doesnt pop up for you to copy the pictures onto your computer?? Plug your camera into your computer. If you have a PC, go to My Computer, and then there should be another folder (like for the C drive and D drive) representing your camera. Double click on that, and keep on going through the folder till you locate the pictures from your camera. (Usually mine are in a folder called DCIM or something like that.) Keep trying, I promise you’ll come across them.

Just a temporary fix until you get your ‘Plug and Play’ working again!

my computer will say found new hardware and installd the sony driver for the camera but when i run it an error comes up saying hardware cant be installed cyclic redundancy…..the camera is groundbreaking new and the software cd works fine…its only when i plug the camera in plz help…
it is windows xp and it does recognize the the driver but when i plug my camera into the computer the hardware add says unable to install hardware cyclic redundancy check error.

maybe your computer need an up to date driver. You can get new driver in goole.com

type: “(you camera type) driver download” and click search on web

or you can contact the customer service for that camera

What OS are you using?

On Windows XP, it automatically recognizes Sony cameras even a few years old. Without any drivers.

What exactly do you mean when you say “when I run it”.

Update: a Cyclic redundancy check error usually means some data is bad. I don’t know why that would happen.

If I were you I would un-install the device driver (Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Administrator) and then just plug the camera in again.

Also try the camera on another computer. You shouldn’t need to do anything but plug it in.
