How do we record video captured on JVC digital video camera?

My mother bought a JVC GR-D370U digital record camera that records onto mini digital cassettes. She has watched the videos playback via av plugs to the television but is wishing to upload record to her pc. She can connect the usb plug to the pc and capture the still images saved to the memory card, but she is unable to capture or even locate the digital record. I’ve searched on the jvc site and found a dv (digital record) cable. I assume this may be needed to transfer the record. Can someone out there help us out? Thanks a bunch.

It is very hard to transfer record via USB. You need to transfer using firewire. Your camera should have come with a lead – it your computer doesn’t have a firewire input socket, you will have to buy a card and fir that, or have it en suite.

.you need a firewire card on your computer for 10 bucks if you dont already have one and you need the cable that will go from your camera to the card and it probably came with some kind of software for capturing..if not then you can use windows movie maker to capture and edit.
