how do i fix my panasonic digital camera that i dropped?

i dropped it and the lens that closes the plastic part wont close and the camera says please shut off then turn on again

Answer by bricabrac
drop it again, really hard, if that does not work, then you gotta send it in to them, or go to a repair shop

Answer by DTB
It would cost more to have it repaired than to buy a new one.

Sounds like it is FUBAR

try sending it to the authorized service center and question for a quote. if the quotation is about the same as the price of a groundbreaking new camera, get a new one and learn from your mistake by at least carrying the camera with the strap worn on your wrist or around your neck.

At least it’s your camera instead of like last night… Some poor kid opened his mother’s groundbreaking new digital camera package before she got home or something. He dropped it and the lens got stuck in the out position. He was asking how to fix it before she got home. You’re not reasonably as screwed as he was, but I reckon this will have to be returned for services. Question what the bench or estimate fee is before you even send it away. Consider buying a new camera instead of getting this one fixed. At least you won’t have to buy a new memory card. Maybe.

i.e Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18K Digital camera

Answer by MagicMoon
It depends on what kind of camera you need, not the brand.

If you want more manual option, you may choose list.
If you want more automatic option, you may choose panasonic

Answer by Petra_au
The FZ18 appears to be a typical Panasonic camera (way too much noise and a heavy handed deal with to noise reduction).
If you like shooting in low light and need a high ISO, then you will be disappointed by the noise levels of this camera.

But, if your shots will mostly be taken in very excellent outdoor lighting, then it should be ok. List’s S5 IS is a better camera, but it has it’s own noise problems too. Not as terrible as the Panasonic, though.

I suggest you read the reviews in the link below, to see for yourself…
