Could someone suggest me good CamCorder in Sony?

Could someone suggest me good CamCorder in Sony?

I want to buy a good Camcorder in Sony which should have harddisk and Camera should be working fine too. Last time I bought Sony Harddisk Camera, In that Video is good but Digital camera is worst.

Please suggest me some camcoder within the price limit of $ 250.

Thanks in advance.

If you want “best” video quality, you won’t buy a hard disc drive camcorder – from anyone – unless that hard drive records using DV or HDV format. Consumer HDD camcorders do’t do that – no matter which manufacturer you pick.

There is no HDD camcorder for $ 250. Unless you buy used.

You are better off getting a camcorder that records to flash memory. Flash memory and hard disc drive (hdd) camcorders are the same. The only exception is that the flash memory camcorders have the least amount of moving parts to break and lose the video recordings, and the hdd camcorder has the most parts that can break and lose your videos. The flash memory camcorders are also lightweight, compact, and fit in your pocket or a very small bag.

Two options are the Aiptek HD+ and the Aiptek HD. Both are HD camcorders that are available for less than $ 200. Other options are the SD capable Flip and RCA Small Wonder.

I searched the web and it says that the usb driver for my model of the sony camcorder is already installed on windows vista, but when i plug the camcorder in using the provided usb cable to my computer, it does not recognize the camera. I have the sony minidv digital handycam model # DCR-TRV27. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am using the Windows Movie Maker software.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Windows Vista.

I recommend finding a better operating system.

ALL miniDV tape based camcorders require firewire for DV format video transfer. Add a firewire port to your computer if it does not already have one – hopefully you have an available expansion slot.

Firewire, IEEE1394, DV and i.LINK are all the same thing. You will also need a firewire cable to connect the DV port of the camcorder to the firewire port on the computer.

USB won’t work. USB-firewire converter/adapters won’t work.

first of all, and with all due respect and no offence, vista and movie maker kind of.. well suck
but thats ok

what you can try to do is open movie maker and let it capture from your camera, where it says caputre video on the left, click on capture from camera or something along those lines, then you get a screen popping up, rewind your tape and click capture..

if not, then try useing ethernet cabel if you have one, or a different cabel that came with the camera, it might work with vista

good luck

and save often on movie maker, its prone to shut down or freeze on purpose
