Cookware sets, what is the best to buy?

I want to invest in a cookware set that’s going to be durable and last a few years.l see the professionals use the stainless steel but never used it.I want to know the best set for the money and easy to keep clean. I have read all kinds of reviews but am still confused. Please help!
I really like the stainless look, and glass lids!

I use the Wolfgang Puck Cafe Collection. It’s 18/10 stainless (the best you can buy), and I’m loving it. I got it at Sam’s Club.

I avoid nonstick cookware because of the teflon coating. To make any stainless steel pan/pot nonstick, just spray it with cooking oil spray.

I never like sets.. I’d rather have a pot designed to do it’s job that is perfect for it, than a whole set made out of it.

For example, I love my Le Cruest Dutch (well, “French”) Oven. But I would not desire an LC skillet. For skillets, I prefer a nonstick inner surface. For saucapans, I prefer both nonstick and stainless varieties, depending upon what I’m preparing in them. Plus, they go i the dishwasher. And I like a glass lid on a skillet and saucepan, something I do not need or desire on a Dutch oven (which is good, since LC doens’t make glass lids).

Hard anodized will discolor and become w hite and cloudy in the DW. This does not bother me, but if it does you, hand wash them or don’t buy it.

That said… if you absolutely must buy a set, I’ll say that I like the looks and heft of Rachael Ray’s line of cookware w/ a painted exterior and glass lids, nearly all of it is nonstick. Ialso like the looks of Wolfgang Puck’s stainless stuff, most of which is not nonstick.

Avoid QVC’s “cooks essentials” line at all costs. The nonstick coating comes off in less than a year, even using proper utensils in them.

Don’t buy anything that says “tramontina” on it, pure garbage. An inexpensive line that is durable and holds up well, and performs quite nicely is actually t-fal, you can get a set for under a hundred dollars. I don’t know how serious you are about cooking, but I have everything from all-clad to calphalon and even crummy stuff, and I cook a lot. I would get a few pieces of commercial grade calphalon non-stick, they really perform nicely, and then supplement it with some T-fal for everyday cooking like grilled cheese and heating up cans of corn.
Also be sure to get a steamer insert if you can.

I have Lagostina. It is stainless steel with glass lids and I just love it. 8 yrs. now and I’ve never had anything stick to the pots. I like the glass lids because I like to watch what’s cooking. Buy them at Sears.

The best album review I’ve ever read:

WAR, famine, colon cancer, genital warts – these are some of the worst things in the world. Now we can add a fifth thing to that list – the atrocity that is Ben Lee’s new album, The Rebirth of Venus.

SOUNDS LIKE: Shit. There’s no joke, it’s just shit. Your ears will punch you in the cock if you buy this awful crap.

I recently went to apply for a job today and i first passed the first interview and did really well on the second interview i met up with the manager and he told me that after the interview he said he would call back in 1 week or 2. what does that mean does that mean i am not accepted? the manager says that i have to wait for a week until he reviews all the applicants and compare between me and all the others are out there. when they say that i am not hired how do they explain this to me?

Answer by charm_link
A week. Reread what you wrote. There are other candidates besides you.

Uh, it means he’ll call you back in a week or two, there is nothing cryptic about that.

Answer by taylor f
From the sounds of it, you have 1 to 2 weeks and he will call you and let you know if you got the job, because there are other applicants that are being interviewed just like you.

Answer by Tobes
He said a week or two, so wait for 2 weeks. If you haven’t heard anything from them in two weeks, call and ask. You don’t want to sound pushy, just explain you applied for a job and you were told you’d be called in 2 weekd but haven’t heard anything and that you want to know whats happening and if your application was successful.

If you’re not hired they’ll just tell you so. Usually something a long the lines of “You application was not successful on this occasion” they may explain why you didn’t get the job, they may not. If they don’t and you want to know, just ask.

Don’t just assume that because you haven’t heard from them that you haven’t got the job. By calling them, it shows you are keen and ehtusiastic, just don’t be too pushy.

Answer by vlee1225
My experience is they don’t mean anything. They may call back. They may never do. It’s thus a polite way to get you off their back.

BRIDESMAIDS . To be truthful, Bridesmaids had a lot going against it for this viewer. For one thing, to quote the Journal 's preview, it's being touted as a "would-be The Hangover for chicks," and The Hangover ranks very high on my all-time worst-film list.

The Best Old Movies for Families: A Guide to Watching Together

If a child can watch Barney, can't that same child also enjoy watching Charlie Chaplin or the Marx Brothers? And as they get older, wouldn't they grow to like screwball comedies (His Girl Friday), women's weepies (Imitation of Life), and westerns (The Searchers)? The answer is that they'll follow because they'll have learned that "old" does not necessarily mean "next channel, please."

Classic Game Room reviews the Colecovision Controller for the Coleco Coleco Vision video game console. This old school controller may have the same plug as controllers for the Atari 2600 and Sega Genesis, but it is very different! Plug this into your Colecovision and use the keypad or joystick to play games like Gorf, Frogger and Defender. It feels like a remote control and has 2 buttons on the side like the Atari 7800 controller design. Only Classic Game Room reviews retro gaming accessories, controllers and hardware. Watch all of our video game controller reviews and equipment review shows. There are other alternatives to the Colecovision controller and we’ll get into that in a future review. Maybe we’ll try and find some aftermarket controllers with a different design.
