Can someone please tell me of a slim digital camera that is as good as a Nixon or Canon SLR digital camera?

Compact cameras are generally compromised by the small size of their sensors, this often earnings more noise, poor definition and over-processing. Depth of field is less pronounced with small sensors and things like diffraction can exchange image quality.

There are two genuine options if you want DSLR stylishness image quality, one is the Sigma DP1 the additional is the Olympus PEN-1, though as the PEN 1 is an interchangable lens camera it is only particularly compact with the 17mm lens (equiv to 35mm in ancient money) both these cameras have decent sized sensors, a raw mode and carious controls over exposure.

I also use a Ricoh GR digital up your sleeve my SLR and it is tiny, but a fixed lens, the Rioch GX100 or 200 might be an option but be ready for long file writing times and intrusive noise at anything above ISO200.

There is no point & shoot camera that as excellent as DSLR camera.
But I would suggest Panasonic DMCLX3 that give fantastic image quality

List G10 is slim digital camera of similar to DSLR. List is excellent value price, more lenses, gorgeous picture, comfortable, etc.
If not, Please go to List EOS 500D.

There’s no such business as a point and shoot that’s as excellent as a digital SLR. The ones that are pretty close are just as (or more) expensive than an actual SLR camera. The G10 is similar to a digital SLR, but it’s around five hundred dollars. You can get a digital SLR with a lens for that money. I assume you want to save money with a point and shoot, but it’s not worth it. Just save up until you can afford a digital SLR. No point and and shoot for a cheap price is as excellent as a digital SLR. Don’t waste your money, just save up.

Like everyone else had said, no point and shoot “slim” camera is going to be as excellent as a DSLR. You can get a List DSLR for a decent price, so as everyone else has suggested, save your money and go DSLR.
