Canon or Nikon SLR digital camera?
If you were export a digital SLR camera and the two were effectively like peas in a pod, would you buy Canon or Nikon?
Answer by testQ
If you do not have any unfilled accessories, then the one that feels better in your hands. Routine will be very similar. Nikon is somewhat higher priced. Nikon’s menu system is reputedly a small simpler to use.

Kathy,
Both brands are awesome. Though, Nikon Is the best on the promote at the moment with their new D90 Model offering12.2 mega pix and 720 HD video. The D90 makes a huge splash in the mid/professional level. It comes with a kit lens(usually the 18mm -105mm). Cannon has some fantastic features as well but still no hd video ability and is priced lower than Nikon. In camera editing ability are better in a nikon and download shareability is a small simpler with cannon(espically when by raw format, Nikon needs special software to edit pictures taken in raw)
I have included numerous links. The 3rd link gives a realy nice review on both cameras.

Both brands are fantastic – brand loyalty lonely attests to that. Each Canon title-holder will tell you to buy Canon, each Nikon title-holder will tell you to buy Nikon. That lonely tells you that they are both doing it right, being able to keep their customers pleased.
Both companies are very similar, but each have a few small details that are slightly better than the other.
Really, it comes down to personal preference. Narrow it down to a couple of models, then go to a store everywhere you can hold them both.
Reckon about friends and family – if you can borrow someone’s lenses and/or learn from their experience, it may be worth going with their brand.
You won’t go incorrect with either one (says the Canon girl who likes her Canons

I am completely torn between the Canon EOS Rebel T1i SLR Camera and the Nikon D5000. I am into macro, conceptual, and scenery photography. And I can’t choose between either camera. The Nikon is about 20$ cheaper; but the Canon has had more reviews and is seemingly more standard. But I want to choose which camera I will buy; and use Photoshop or iPhoto. I’d really like if you could help my choose and have an explination(: Thank you!

Nikon, always been one of the best cameras out there.

you have choosen two awesome cameras. There is not much difference between them. Saying one over the other… YOu might as well flip a coin.
People’s opinion about which is better is generally based around which one feels more comfortable in their hands? One will naturally feel simpler to use and know. That would be main advice. Have you held on ein your hands?
Canon has more reviews because canon’s have historically been closer assoicated with amatures. While Nikon has an historial bias towards professionals. THESE days, this assoication is completely shattered. Professionals and consumers use both proactively.
personal annecdote:
i choose canon because it was what i was use to. My first digital camera was a Canon G10. The controls on the G10 were very similar to the Canon’s. My pronouncement was made for me because i didn’t need to learn a bunch of menus all over again. I never looked back.
I have never used iphoto before. So i can’t speak to that effect. Though I did choose photoshop.

They are both excellent cameras. Your question is like asking what is the best car, stereo, or even restaurant. Everybody has their own opinion. I agree with Sagara, go to a camera shop and try each one. When I shot film, I liked Minolta. When I switched to digital, I tried the different brands. I liked the way Canon felt, not only how the body felt, but the layout of all of the controls (buttons, dial, and even menu layout).
As far as editing software, Photoshop is the standard among professional photographers. It does have a steeper learning curve, but you will find there is a lot of help available with any questions you may have.
