Can I return a game from Best Buy and charge it to my Best Buy credit card?

Can I return a game from Best Buy and charge it to my Best Buy credit card?

I had bought a Wii Fit from Best Buy and charge it to my deduction card. I want to know if I can get a refund and charge the game to my Best Buy credit card.

Just tell the cashier to scan the game as a refund, then scan it as a buy so that you can charge it to your Best Buy credit card. But I wouldn’t be bolt from the blue if the Best Buy employee couldn’t come up with this solution.

Or you could buy the same game and charge it to your Best Buy credit card, then return the game by the receipt that was charged to your deduction card.

Sadly, I had to buy a laptop power supply at that Saturn. (It’s essentially German Best Buy.) 139 euros, and they don’t take credit cards.

I have a best buy credit card and I signed up for the no interest option. Each payment I make lowers my balance but each payment that I send has something called a California debt cancellation fee. its roughly 10 percent of the payment I make. I was just curious if that was some kind of tax in the state of California.

I suggest you call the credit card company and question them exactly what that fee is. I can’t imagine what kind of state tax there would be on a credit card account payment.

It sounds more like it’s some kind of protection plot coverage. If it is a protection plot, you certainly want to cancel that. It’s a waste of money.

not a tax but a rip-off by the finance company that best buy uses…hsbc

the salesperson most liable told you to sign in a certain spot and you did not read what you were signing. the salesperson has to meet a quota and best buy get a cut.

Excellent luck on trying to get is removed…you have to fight it out wish hsbc

It could be protection from being laid off everywhere the bank will cancel the debt for minimum payments while you are laid off. You doubtless checked a box stating that you wanted that when you signed the credit card agreement. Check your credit card agreement to see what you signed.

The fee is doubtless a percentage of the remaining outstanding balance.

No, it’s not a state tax. It’s a fee that HSBC is charging (they finance the Best Buy cards) and it’s lousy! Many, many people have complained about it. Here’s a segment MSNBC did on it: http://redtape.msnbc.com/2006/02/sameascash_read.html

Your best option is to pay off the card and cancel it. They say interest-free, but if you are even one day late, they can charge interest going back to first date of the buy. I like Best Buy, but the no-interest HSBC financing sucks!

(btw, I’m in Calif, too. Sounds like something our tax-hungry legislature would come with, doesn’t it!)
