I like these guys… Yes… I do dig Castle Lego too…
Amy bought me the new Troll Warship 7048 last week – It was quite a bolt from the blue. I was stoked. I wanted it. I like it. Trolls, an Ogre, a Dwarf and a Knight… and a Dragon! what more could you want? She’s the best.
Consider this to be a brainteaser about the expanse of my Legoverse and the other directions CPKF intends to venture…

I applied to Best Buy and they interviewer said that i was hired. Then I found out that i might not have because of a misdemeanor in my background check. Considering im in a deferred prosecution program, can they still hold it against me? I was told that i can dispute them but when i called their HR digit, they gave me a few other phone facts that either weren’t right or were altered. According to a letter i just got, i have til tomorrow to contact best buy to fight it, delight help, I really really really wanna work at best buy.

Yes they can still hold that against you. They can technically hold ANYTHING against you except race, religious conviction, sex, and all other protected classes. They can hold your hair style against you if they want. Best Buy, as well as most other retailers, really don’t like to hire people with ANY run-ins with the law due to possible theft.

Doubtless your best bet is to question a lawyer. Furthermore, the answer may vary from state to state. The bar association in your state or county may be able to get you in touch with a reduced-fee attorney. You can also call Catholic Charities, the Salvation Army, or a law school in your area and see if they have a “pro bono” officially authorized representation program.

Best Buy Co., Inc. was honored with a 2008 Secretary of Labor’s New Freedom Initiative Award for its Employee Business Network called INCLUDE. Reflecting its slogan of “Focus on Abilities, not Disabilities,” the group advocates for culture change by promoting employment opportunities, supportive services and accommodations for people with disabilities in a style designed to benefit everyone-employees, customers, families and local communities. Within months of its formation in 2006, INCLUDE received more than 300 inquiries regarding accommodations and other disability issues, many of which resulted in changes designed to improve employee and customer experiences. Examples are subtitling all schooling DVDs, adding coverage for hearing aids in the company-sponsored health plot, proactively targeting job candidates with disabilities and implementing disability awareness schooling for employees. As part of the effort, Best Buy has also established strategic partnerships with disability organizations, including the Maryland School for the Deaf, Career Opportunities for Students with Disabilities and the Minnesota Business Leadership Network. These partnerships and the overall success of INCLUDE are already translating into a competitive edge for Best Buy by closing gaps not only in its workforce, but also its customer base.
