I got an Olympus digital camera. Not super impressed with the quality -- should i get a refund?

I bought an Olympus 8 megapixel camera with 5X optical zoom. I used to own a 8 megapixel Sony camera… the Sony had brilliant quality (Carl Zeiss Lens). The Olympus camera was on sale so i chose to give it a try. it is trying to take clear, all ears pictures with this camera. should i get a refund? What is your experience with olympus cameras?
Marie–what model was your camera?

Answer by Brianna c
i haaate olympus. i had one, and the screen broke, and even before that it took terrible pictures.
stick with the sony, or if your willing to upgrade, go to canon or nikon. you wont have any issues with those.

I have an Olympus and I like it . My pictures always turn out fantastic. I have had people question me to do weddings and take pictures of their children. I just took some fantastic pictures of my grandchildren on Halloween.

I have the C-765 and I just bought the E-420 SLR. Just learning how to use that one. I also have the Stylus 800.

I just like Olympus. I seem to be the only one. lol But once you get the hang of any digital camera they all take fantastic pictures.
So if you are really miserable get your refund and try another brand.

Best of luck !

I despise my Olympus camera (it’s an grown-up model), I now have a canon, that I like. It’s a year 1/2 ancient but I still like it.

i’ve got an olympus fe310 (8 mp, 5 x zoom) & photos from it are fantastic. i’ve tried a pentax with similar specs. but the olympus is far better. what model olympus are you talking about ? are you SURE you’ve all ears correctly before taking picture ? sometimes it is hard to focus on some objects that don’t have excellent definition.

What do you reckon? Answer below!

I’m trying to buy a excellent digital camera with about 10 or 12 mega pixels and I was thinking about an Olympus. Is that a excellent choice of a camera? Or is there a better one?

Answer by Marsie13
Olympus cameras are not a terrible choice, but I suggest you go for a Panasonic one. Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ6 is a fantastic camera. It has a 12-time optical zoom and is also 12 mega pixels. Very excellent quality. Also has a video camera with signal recordings. Some amusing effects also included in the camera, ones like a water effect, if you are taking a picture of water with moonlight bright on it. Very god camera, and simple to use. If you do choose it, choose the chocolate colour, it’s the best! Hope this advice helps and seriously go for this camera!

Sure you can say Olympus is excellent when it comes to all-weather cameras. If you’re just going to pick a unsystematic camera from their line, try another brand. Olympus’ cameras are 50-50. Some are really excellent and some are otherwise. Just do your research before export and it should work out fine. But I would prefer Canon to it.
