What do you reckon? Answer below!

I’m Thinking to buy a new NIKON D60 but ive heard reviews say that it only has 3 AF points. If any of you guys use the D60 then can you delight tell me about the picture quality and practicality?

Answer by AWriterWandering
An AF point is just an area in the viewfinder that the camera can be told to autofocus on. The quantity of these doesn’t affect picture quality in any way.

Having more than three AF points is mostly helpful for tripod work. Since it means you don’t have to reposition the camera to autofocus on an off center subject. When you’re hand holding the camera this isn’t an issue… just house your intended subject in the center AF marks*, half press the shutter button to focus**, then reposition and shoot.

*the center AF point is the most reliable one anyways.

**alternatively the AF/AE lock button on the back can be programmed to do this.

the post above is right the AF points are just points the camera can autofocus on. I would suggest checking the guide below as clarifies all the jargon cameras use.
