What are some good digital SLR camera's to review?

I am looking to get a digital slr camera eventually here (within the next six months). I don’t want a way way way expensive one, but I would really like a middle of the road slr camera. So any help is appreciated. I have used my mothers Nikon and it is “ok” just looking for other opinions.

I can only recommend Nikon’s and Canon’s because they are the two companies that the pros use.
