jvc digital video camera card error?

I have a JVC GR-D270U digital camcorder and bought a groundbreaking new scandisk 4 gig memory card and when i place it in it says card error is their something incorrect with either of these items or is it user malfunction

One thing that may be incorrect: you could have place the card in the incorrect way, because even though I know how to do this I still get it incorrect sometimes. Another thing that might be incorrect is that you could have accidentally flipped the locking switch on the side, which will produce an error message to be shown on some cameras. I doubt anything is incorrect with the camera. Once, I got this message and it was because the plastic pieces on the back–in between the metal parts on the back, everywhere the card is read–were twisted and in the way of the card being read. In this case, carefully bend these back to everywhere they belong, out of the way of the metal part. And if they won’t bend, I’ve had to break them off sometimes, it doesn’t effect the card. One more thing that you can try to fix this error is to go into the camera’s menu and select “format memory card”. Most cameras will allow you to do this, and if there is something on the card’s memory causing the conundrum, that should take care of it. Hopefully I’ve helped….

It is a a JVC digital video camera model no. GR-D270U i have a video on a sony premium digital video cassette mini dv not realizing i needed it to be recorded onto the sd memery card. how do i transfer this video to the sd card to then be able to get it onto my laptop. also i have tried to plug it in directly to my laptop itsself but it is not recognized at all. any help this is not something i can recreate and need to get it on my computer

Use a USB cable or get a SD Card reader… This is why you should have gotten a Canon, Kodak, Sony, Panasonic camera instead… JVC Sucks.
